¹⁴ God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.^[a](A) This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”

⁸ Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, “What is the sign^(A) that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the Lord’s temple on the third day?”

⁹ Isaiah said, “This is the sign^(B) to you from the Lord that he will do what he has promised: Should the shadow go ahead ten steps or go back ten steps?”

¹⁴ Therefore, the Lord himself will give you^[a] a sign: See, the virgin will conceive,^[b] have a son, and name him Immanuel.^[c](A)
