¹⁴God said to Moses, “I am who I am.”^[a] And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ^(A)‘I am has sent me to you.’”

¹⁴God said to Moses, “I am who I am.^[a] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am^(A) has sent me to you.’”

⁵⁸Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, ^(A)I am.”

⁵⁸“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born,^(A) I am!”^(B)
