15 And Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. 16 And the glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days, and he called to Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud. 17 And the appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain to the eyes of[a] the Israelites.[b]

15 When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud(A) covered it, 16 and the glory(B) of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai.(C) For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud.(D) 17 To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire(E) on top of the mountain.
