²³ Your ^(A)rulers are rebels
And companions of thieves;
Everyone ^(B)loves a bribe
And chases after rewards.
They ^(C)do not ^[a]defend the ^[b]orphan,
Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.

10 Woe to those who ^(A)enact evil statutes
And to those who constantly record ^[a]unjust decisions,
² So as ^(B)to ^[b]deprive the needy of justice
And rob the poor of My people of their rights,
So ^(C)that widows may be their spoil
And that they may plunder the ^[c]orphans.

¹¹ Her leaders pronounce ^(A)judgment for a bribe,
Her ^(B)priests instruct for a price
And her prophets divine for money.
Yet they lean on the Lord saying,
“^(C)Is not the Lord in our midst?
Calamity will not come upon us.”

³ Concerning evil, both hands do it ^(A)well.
The prince asks, also the judge, for a ^(B)bribe,
And a great man speaks the desire of his soul;
So they weave it together.
