29 unless the ox was known to gore people in the past, and the owner had been notified and still the ox was not kept under control; in that case, if it kills someone, the ox shall be stoned and the owner also shall be killed. 30 But the dead man’s relatives may accept a fine instead, if they wish. The judges will determine the amount.[a]
31 “The same law holds if the ox gores a boy or a girl.

29 If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up(A) and it kills a man or woman, the bull is to be stoned and its owner also is to be put to death. 30 However, if payment is demanded, the owner may redeem his life by the payment of whatever is demanded.(B) 31 This law also applies if the bull gores a son or daughter.
