⁴ “^(A)You shall not make for yourself ^[a]an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

^23 (A)You shall not make other gods besides Me; ^(B)gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves.

^17 (A)You shall make for yourself no molten gods.

⁴ Do not turn to ^(A)idols or make for yourselves molten ^(B)gods; I am the Lord your God.

Blessings of Obedience

26 ‘You shall not make for yourselves ^[a](A)idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves ^(B)an image or ^(C)a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a ^(D)figured stone in your land to bow down ^[b]to it; for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁶ so that you do not ^(A)act corruptly and ^(B)make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

²³ So watch yourselves, ^(A)that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and ^(B)make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you.

The Folly of Idolatry

⁹ Those who fashion ^[a]a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be ^(A)put to shame.
