Deuteronomy 19:16-21
New International Version
16 If a malicious witness(A) takes the stand to accuse someone of a crime, 17 the two people involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the Lord before the priests and the judges(B) who are in office at the time. 18 The judges must make a thorough investigation,(C) and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against a fellow Israelite, 19 then do to the false witness as that witness intended to do to the other party.(D) You must purge the evil from among you. 20 The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid,(E) and never again will such an evil thing be done among you. 21 Show no pity:(F) life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.(G)
Deuteronomy 19:16-21
King James Version
16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;
19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
