⁶ and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation.’^(A) These are the words that you are to say to the Israelites.”

⁵ you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood^[a] to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God^(A) through Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are a chosen race,^[a][b](A) a royal priesthood,^[c](B) a holy nation,^[d](C) a people for his possession,^[e](D) so that you may proclaim the praises^[f][g](E) of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.^(F)

¹⁶ to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles,^(A) serving as a priest of the gospel of God.^(B) God’s purpose is that the Gentiles may be an acceptable offering,^(C) sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

⁶ and made us a kingdom,^[a] priests^[b](A) to his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.^(B)

⁹ And they sang a new song:^(A)

⁶ Blessed^(A) and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death^(B) has no power^[a] over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.^(C)
