And he called the name of the place [a]Massah and [b]Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they had tempted the Lord, saying, Is the [c]Lord among us, or no?

(A)Then came [d]Amalek and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us out men, and go fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the [e]hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

The Amalekites(C) came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim.(D) Moses said to Joshua,(E) “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff(F) of God in my hands.”
