¹⁴ Then Yahweh said to Moses, “^(A)Write this in ^[a]a book as a memorial and ^[b]recite it in Joshua’s hearing, ^[c]that ^(B)I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”

The Coming Assyrian Invasion

8 Then Yahweh said to me, “Take for yourself a large tablet and ^(A)write on it ^[a]in ordinary letters: ^(B)Concerning ^[b]Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

⁴ Then Jeremiah called ^(A)Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a ^[a](B)scroll ^[b]at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of Yahweh which He had spoken to him.

⁶ So you shall go and ^(A)read from the scroll, which you have ^(B)written ^[a]at my dictation, the words of Yahweh ^[b]in the hearing of the people in the house of Yahweh on a ^(C)fast day. And also you shall read them in the hearing of all the people of Judah who come from their cities.

²³ And it happened that when Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with a scribe’s knife and ^(A)threw it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll ^[a]was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

²⁸ “^(A)Take again another scroll and write on it all the former words that were ^(B)on the first scroll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah burned.

⁹ Then I looked, and behold, a ^(A)hand was sent forth to me; and behold, a ^[a](B)scroll was in it.

A Flying Scroll

5 Then I lifted up my eyes again and saw, and behold, a flying ^(A)scroll. ² And he said to me, “^(B)What do you see?” And I said, “I see a flying scroll; its length is ^[a]twenty cubits and its width ten cubits.”
