^11 (A)Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?

⁷ So he called the name of the place ^(A)Massah^[a] and ^[b]Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they ^[c]tempted the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”

32 Now when the people saw that Moses ^(B)delayed coming down from the mountain, the people ^(C)gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, ^(D)“Come, make us ^[a]gods that shall ^(E)go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who ^(F)brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

⁵ But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies ^(A)were scattered in the wilderness.
