10 As Pharaoh approached, the sons of Israel [a]looked, and behold, the Egyptians were coming after them, and they became very frightened; (A)so the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord. 11 Then (B)they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, [b]bringing us out of Egypt? 12 (C)Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘[c]Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness!”

The Sea Is Divided

13 But Moses said to the people, “(D)Do not fear! [d]Stand by and see (E)the salvation of the Lord, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever. 14 (F)The Lord will fight for you, while (G)you keep silent.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.

They were terrified and cried(A) out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die?(B) What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”(C)

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid.(D) Stand firm and you will see(E) the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see(F) again. 14 The Lord will fight(G) for you; you need only to be still.”(H)

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me?(I) Tell the Israelites to move on.
