Exodus 12:23-27
New American Standard Bible
A Memorial of Redemption
23 For (A)the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; but when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will (B)not allow the (C)destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you. 24 And (D)you shall keep this event as an ordinance for you and your children forever. 25 When you enter the land which the Lord will give you, as He has [a]promised, you shall keep this [b]rite. 26 (E)And when your children say to you, ‘[c]What does this rite mean to you?’ 27 then you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to (F)the Lord because He passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians, but [d]spared our homes.’” (G)And the people bowed low and worshiped.

Exodus 12:23-27
New International Version
23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike(A) down the Egyptians, he will see the blood(B) on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over(C) that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer(D) to enter your houses and strike you down.
24 “Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance(E) for you and your descendants. 25 When you enter the land(F) that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. 26 And when your children(G) ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ 27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover(H) sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’”(I) Then the people bowed down and worshiped.(J)
