Exodus 12:12-15

New International Version

¹²“On that same night I will pass through^(A) Egypt and strike down^(B) every firstborn^(C) of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods^(D) of Egypt. I am the Lord.^(E) ¹³The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over^(F) you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.^(G)

¹⁴“This is a day you are to commemorate;^(H) for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance.^(I) ¹⁵For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast.^(J) On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off^(K) from Israel.

¹²For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

¹³And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

¹⁴And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

¹⁵Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
