2-4 Kailangan siyang magbayad. Kung walang ibabayad, siya ang ipagbibili at ang pinagbilhan ang ibabayad sa kanyang ninakaw. Kung ang ninakaw naman ay makita sa kanya at buháy pa, doble lamang ang ibabayad niya.
“Kapag ang magnanakaw ay pumasok nang gabi at siya ay napatay ng may-ari ng bahay, walang pananagutan ang nakapatay. Kung ang pagkapatay ay naganap pagkasikat ng araw, mananagot ang nakapatay.

2 “If a thief is caught breaking in(A) at night and is struck a fatal blow, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed;(B) 3 but if it happens after sunrise, the defender is guilty of bloodshed.
“Anyone who steals must certainly make restitution,(C) but if they have nothing, they must be sold(D) to pay for their theft. 4 If the stolen animal is found alive in their possession(E)—whether ox or donkey or sheep—they must pay back double.(F)
