Exodus 14:15-31
English Standard Version
15 The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. 16 (A)Lift up your staff, and (B)stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground. 17 And (C)I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and (D)I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. 18 And the Egyptians (E)shall know that I am the Lord, (F)when I have gotten glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
19 (G)Then the angel of God who was going before the host of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them, 20 coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. And there was the cloud and the darkness. And it lit up the night[a] without one coming near the other all night.
21 Then Moses (H)stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by (I)a strong east wind all night and (J)made the sea dry land, and the waters were (K)divided. 22 And (L)the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being (M)a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 23 The Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 And in the morning watch the Lord in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic, 25 clogging[b] their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from before Israel, for the (N)Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, (O)“Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the water may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.” 27 (P)So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea (Q)returned to its normal course when the morning appeared. And as the Egyptians fled into it, the Lord (R)threw[c] the Egyptians into the midst of the sea. 28 The (S)waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, (T)not one of them remained. 29 But the (U)people of Israel walked on dry ground through the sea, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
30 Thus the Lord (V)saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 (W)Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the Lord, and they (X)believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.

New American Standard Bible
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward. 16 As for you, lift up (A)your staff and reach out with your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall [a]go through the midst of the sea on dry land. 17 And as for Me, behold, (B)I will [b]harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18 (C)Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his horsemen.”
19 Then (D)the angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud [c]along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Therefore the one did not approach the other all night.
21 (E)Then Moses reached out with his hand over the sea; and the Lord [d]swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into (F)dry land, and (G)the waters were divided. 22 So (H)the sons of Israel [e]went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and (I)the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left. 23 Then (J)the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea. 24 But at the morning watch, (K)the Lord looked down on the [f]army of the Egyptians [g]through the pillar of fire and cloud, and brought the [h]army of the Egyptians into confusion. 25 He [i]caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said, “Let me flee from Israel, (L)for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “(M)Reach out with your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen.” 27 So Moses reached out with his hand over the sea, and (N)the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing [j]right into it; then the Lord [k](O)overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, Pharaoh’s entire army that had gone into the sea after them; (P)not even one of them remained. 29 But the sons of Israel walked on (Q)dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left.
30 (R)So the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel (S)saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 When Israel saw the great [l]power which the Lord had [m]used against the Egyptians, the people [n]feared the Lord, and (T)they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.
