9 Domnul a zis lui Moise(A): „Du-te la Faraon şi spune-i: ‘Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul evreilor: «Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece, ca să-Mi slujească. 2 Dacă(B) nu vrei să-l laşi să plece şi dacă-l mai opreşti, 3 iată(C), mâna Domnului va fi peste turmele tale de pe câmp; peste cai, peste măgari, peste cămile, peste boi şi peste oi, şi anume va fi o ciumă foarte mare. 4 Dar Domnul va(D) face deosebire între turmele lui Israel şi turmele egiptenilor, aşa că nu va pieri nimic din tot ce este al copiilor lui Israel». 5 Domnul a hotărât vremea şi a zis: «Mâine va face Domnul lucrul acesta în ţară».’ ” 6 Şi Domnul a făcut aşa chiar de a doua zi(E). Toate turmele egiptenilor au pierit, dar n-a pierit nicio vită din turmele copiilor lui Israel. 7 Faraon a trimis să vadă ce se întâmplase, şi iată că nicio vită din turmele lui Israel nu pierise. Dar inima(F) lui Faraon s-a împietrit şi n-a lăsat pe popor să plece.

8 Domnul a zis lui Moise şi lui Aaron: „Umpleţi-vă mâinile cu cenuşă din cuptor, şi Moise s-o arunce spre cer, sub ochii lui Faraon. 9 Ea se va preface într-o ţărână care va acoperi toată ţara Egiptului şi va da naştere în toată ţara Egiptului, pe oameni şi pe dobitoace, la nişte bube(G) pricinuite de nişte băşici fierbinţi.” 10 Ei au luat cenuşă din cuptor şi s-au înfăţişat înaintea lui Faraon; Moise a aruncat-o spre cer, şi ea a dat naştere, pe oameni şi pe dobitoace, la nişte(H) bube pricinuite de nişte băşici fierbinţi. 11 Vrăjitorii(I) nu s-au putut arăta înaintea lui Moise din pricina bubelor, căci bubele erau pe vrăjitori, ca şi pe toţi egiptenii. 12 Domnul a împietrit inima lui Faraon, şi Faraon n-a ascultat de Moise şi de Aaron(J), după cum spusese Domnul lui Moise.
Piatra şi focul
13 Domnul a zis lui Moise(K): „Scoală-te dis-de-dimineaţă, du-te înaintea lui Faraon şi spune-i: ‘Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul evreilor: «Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece, ca să-Mi slujească. 14 Fiindcă de data aceasta am să trimit toate urgiile Mele împotriva inimii tale, împotriva slujitorilor tăi şi împotriva poporului tău, ca să(L) ştii că nimeni nu este ca Mine pe tot pământul. 15 Dacă Mi-aş fi(M) întins mâna şi te-aş fi lovit cu ciumă, pe tine şi pe poporul tău, ai fi pierit de pe pământ. 16 Dar te-am lăsat să rămâi în picioare(N) ca să vezi puterea Mea şi Numele Meu să fie vestit în tot pământul. 17 Dacă te mai ridici împotriva poporului Meu şi dacă nu-l laşi să plece, 18 iată, mâine, la ceasul acesta, voi face să bată o piatră aşa de mare cum n-a mai fost în Egipt din ziua întemeierii lui şi până azi. 19 Pune-ţi dar la adăpost turmele şi tot ce ai pe câmp. Piatra are să bată pe toţi oamenii şi toate vitele de pe câmp, care nu vor fi intrat în case, şi vor pieri»’.” 20 Aceia dintre slujitorii lui Faraon care s-au temut de Cuvântul Domnului şi-au adunat în case robii şi turmele. 21 Dar cei ce nu şi-au pus la inimă Cuvântul Domnului şi-au lăsat robii şi turmele pe câmp. 22 Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Întinde-ţi mâna spre cer, şi are să bată(O) piatra în toată ţara Egiptului, pe oameni, pe vite şi pe toată iarba de pe câmp în ţara Egiptului!” 23 Moise şi-a întins toiagul spre cer, şi(P) Domnul a trimis tunete şi piatră, de cădea foc pe pământ. Domnul a făcut să bată piatra peste ţara Egiptului. 24 A bătut piatra, şi focul se amesteca cu piatra; piatra era aşa de mare încât nu mai bătuse piatră ca aceea în toată ţara Egiptului de când este el locuit de oameni. 25 Piatra a nimicit, în toată ţara Egiptului, tot ce era pe câmp, de la oameni până la dobitoace; piatra a(Q) nimicit şi toată iarba de pe câmp şi a frânt toţi copacii de pe câmp. 26 Numai(R) în ţinutul Gosen, unde erau copiii lui Israel, n-a bătut piatra. 27 Faraon a trimis să cheme pe Moise şi pe Aaron şi le-a zis: „De data aceasta(S) am păcătuit(T); Domnul are dreptate, iar eu şi poporul meu suntem vinovaţi. 28 Rugaţi-vă(U) Domnului ca să nu mai fie tunete şi piatră, şi vă voi lăsa să plecaţi şi nu veţi mai fi opriţi.” 29 Moise i-a zis: „Când voi ieşi din cetate, voi ridica mâinile(V) spre Domnul, tunetele vor înceta şi nu va mai bate piatra, ca să(W) ştii că al Domnului este pământul! 30 Dar ştiu(X) că tu şi slujitorii tăi tot nu vă veţi teme de Domnul Dumnezeu.” 31 Inul şi orzul(Y) se prăpădiseră, pentru că orzul tocmai dăduse în spic, iar inul era în floare; 32 grâul şi ovăzul nu se stricaseră, pentru că erau târzii. 33 Moise a plecat de la Faraon şi a ieşit afară din cetate; şi-a ridicat(Z) mâinile spre Domnul, tunetele şi piatra au încetat şi n-a mai căzut ploaia pe pământ. 34 Faraon, văzând că ploaia, piatra şi tunetele încetaseră, n-a contenit să păcătuiască şi şi-a împietrit inima, el şi slujitorii lui. 35 Lui Faraon i s-a împietrit(AA) inima şi n-a lăsat pe copiii lui Israel să plece, după cum spusese Domnul prin Moise.

The Fifth Plague: Egyptian Livestock Die
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, (A)“Go in to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says (B)the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. 2 For if you refuse to let them go and still hold them, 3 behold, (C)the hand of the Lord will fall with a very severe plague upon your livestock that are in the field, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks. 4 (D)But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that belongs to the people of Israel shall die.”’” 5 And the Lord set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.” 6 And the next day the Lord did this thing. (E)All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died. 7 And Pharaoh sent, and behold, not one of the livestock of Israel was dead. But (F)the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
The Sixth Plague: Boils
8 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from the kiln, and let Moses throw them in the air in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 It shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and become (G)boils breaking out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt.” 10 So they took soot from the kiln and stood before Pharaoh. And Moses threw it in the air, and it became boils breaking out in sores on man and beast. 11 And (H)the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils came upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians. 12 (I)But the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them, as (J)the Lord had spoken to Moses.
The Seventh Plague: Hail
13 Then the Lord said to Moses, (K)“Rise up early in the morning and present yourself before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. 14 For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself,[a] and on your servants and your people, so (L)that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth. 15 For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. 16 (M)But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so (N)that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth. 17 (O)You are still exalting yourself against my people and will not let them go. 18 Behold, about this time tomorrow I will cause very heavy hail to fall, such as never has been in Egypt from the day it was founded until now. 19 Now therefore send, (P)get your livestock and all that you have in the field into safe shelter, for every man and beast that is in the field and is not brought home will die when the hail falls on them.”’” 20 Then whoever feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses, 21 but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the Lord left his slaves and his livestock in the field.
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be (Q)hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.” 23 Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the (R)Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt. 24 There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail (S)struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field. 26 (T)Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail.
27 Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them, “This time (U)I have sinned; the (V)Lord is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong. 28 (W)Plead with the Lord, for there has been enough of God's thunder and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” 29 Moses said to him, “As soon as I have gone out of the city, (X)I will stretch out my hands to the Lord. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that (Y)the earth is the Lord's. 30 But as for you and your servants, (Z)I know that you do not yet fear the Lord God.” 31 (The flax and the barley were struck down, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. 32 But the wheat and the emmer[b] were not struck down, for they are late in coming up.) 33 So Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and (AA)stretched out his hands to the Lord, and the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured upon the earth. 34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned yet again and (AB)hardened his heart, (AC)he and his servants. 35 So (AD)the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people of Israel go, just as the Lord had spoken through Moses.

2 For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,
3 Behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
4 And the Lord shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.
5 And the Lord appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the Lord shall do this thing in the land.
6 And the Lord did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 And the Lord said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
12 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had spoken unto Moses.
13 And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
19 Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
20 He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
21 And he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.
22 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.
26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
27 And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
28 Intreat the Lord (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the Lord; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the Lord's.
30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the Lord God.
31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
32 But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.
33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by Moses.
