Exodus 32:7-11
Good News Translation
7 The Lord said to Moses, “Hurry and go back down, because your people, whom you led out of Egypt, have sinned and rejected me. 8 They have already left the way that I commanded them to follow; they have made a bull-calf out of melted gold and have worshiped it and offered sacrifices to it. They are saying that this is their god, who led them out of Egypt. 9 I know how stubborn these people are. 10 Now, don't try to stop me. I am angry with them, and I am going to destroy them. Then I will make you and your descendants into a great nation.”
11 (A)But Moses pleaded with the Lord his God and said, “Lord, why should you be so angry with your people, whom you rescued from Egypt with great might and power?

New International Version
7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt,(A) have become corrupt.(B) 8 They have been quick to turn away(C) from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol(D) cast in the shape of a calf.(E) They have bowed down to it and sacrificed(F) to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’(G)
9 “I have seen these people,” the Lord said to Moses, “and they are a stiff-necked(H) people. 10 Now leave me alone(I) so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy(J) them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”(K)
11 But Moses sought the favor(L) of the Lord his God. “Lord,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?(M)

Good News Translation
13 (A)Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Remember the solemn promise you made to them to give them as many descendants as there are stars in the sky and to give their descendants all that land you promised would be their possession forever.” 14 So the Lord changed his mind and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.

13 Remember(A) your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self:(B) ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars(C) in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land(D) I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’” 14 Then the Lord relented(E) and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.
