Exodus 12:5-7
New American Standard Bible
5 Your [a]lamb shall be (A)an unblemished male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats. 6 [b]You shall keep it until the (B)fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter it [c](C)at twilight. 7 (D)Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel [d]of the houses in which they eat it.

5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect,(A) and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month,(B) when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.(C) 7 Then they are to take some of the blood(D) and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
