⁵ The Lord has already set the time for the plague to begin. He has declared that he will strike the land tomorrow.’”

²³ I will make a clear distinction between^[a] my people and your people. This miraculous sign will happen tomorrow.’”

⁶³ They told him, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver once said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise from the dead.’ ⁶⁴ So we request that you seal the tomb until the third day. This will prevent his disciples from coming and stealing his body and then telling everyone he was raised from the dead! If that happens, we’ll be worse off than we were at first.”

¹⁶ Therefore, this is what the Lord says: ‘You must die. Your life will end this very year because you have rebelled against the Lord.’”

¹⁷ Two months later^[a] the prophet Hananiah died.

A Time for Everything

⁹ What do people really get for all their hard work? ¹⁰ I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. ¹¹ Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

Job Asks Why the Wicked Are Not Punished

⁵ Then he said to Korah and his followers, “Tomorrow morning the Lord will show us who belongs to him^[a] and who is holy. The Lord will allow only those whom he selects to enter his own presence.

⁴ If you refuse, watch out! For tomorrow I will bring a swarm of locusts on your country.

¹⁸ So tomorrow at this time I will send a hailstorm more devastating than any in all the history of Egypt.
