¹⁹ the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger^(A) of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart^(B) was hard and he would not listen,^(C) just as the Lord had said.

²⁰ But if I drive out demons by the finger of God,^(A) then the kingdom of God^(B) has come upon you.

²⁸ But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God^(A) has come upon you.

⁵ And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord^(A) when I stretch out my hand^(B) against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”

¹⁶ “What are we going to do with these men?”^(A) they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign,^(B) and we cannot deny it.

⁴⁷ Then the chief priests and the Pharisees^(A) called a meeting^(B) of the Sanhedrin.^(C)

“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs.^(D)

¹⁹ During the night the mystery^(A) was revealed to Daniel in a vision.^(B) Then Daniel praised the God of heaven^(C)

¹⁰ The astrologers^(A) answered the king, “There is no one on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer.^{(B) 11} What the king asks is too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods,^(C) and they do not live among humans.”
