6 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand^(A) he will let them go;^(B) because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.”^(C)

³⁹ With the dough the Israelites had brought from Egypt, they baked loaves of unleavened bread. The dough was without yeast because they had been driven out^(A) of Egypt and did not have time to prepare food for themselves.

³³ The Egyptians urged the people to hurry^(A) and leave^(B) the country. “For otherwise,” they said, “we will all die!”^(C)

The Exodus

³¹ During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship^(A) the Lord as you have requested.

The Plague on the Firstborn

11 Now the Lord had said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go^(A) from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely.^(B)

¹⁹ But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand^(A) compels him. ²⁰ So I will stretch out my hand^(B) and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders^(C) that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go.^(D)

³³ As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will reign over you with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm^(A) and with outpoured wrath.^{(B) 34} I will bring you from the nations^(C) and gather^(D) you from the countries where you have been scattered—with a mighty hand^(E) and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath.^(F)
