⁷ place the basin^(A) between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it.

⁷ But if we walk in the light,^(A) as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all^[a] sin.^(B)

²² let us draw near to God^(A) with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings,^(B) having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience^(C) and having our bodies washed with pure water.^(D)

⁵ he saved us,^(A) not because of righteous things we had done,^(B) but because of his mercy.^(C) He saved us through the washing^(D) of rebirth and renewal^(E) by the Holy Spirit,

Cleansing From Sin

13 “On that day a fountain^(A) will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse^(B) them from sin and impurity.

³⁰ He placed the basin^(A) between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing, ³¹ and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash^(B) their hands and feet. ³² They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar,^(C) as the Lord commanded^(D) Moses.

The Basin for Washing

⁸ They made the bronze basin^(A) and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women^(B) who served at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

¹⁸ “Make a bronze basin,^(A) with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. ¹⁹ Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet^(B) with water^(C) from it. ²⁰ Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.^(D) Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, ²¹ they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance^(E) for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”^(F)
