The Glory of the Lord

³⁴ Then ^(A)the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and ^(B)the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

⁸ and ^(A)the sanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and ^(B)no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

The Cloud Covering the Tabernacle

^15 (A)On the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony. And ^(B)at evening it was over the tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning. ¹⁶ So it was always: the cloud covered it by day^[a] and the appearance of fire by night. ¹⁷ And whenever the cloud ^(C)lifted from over the tent, after that the people of Israel set out, and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the people of Israel camped. ¹⁸ At the command of the Lord the people of Israel set out, and at the command of the Lord they camped. ^(D)As long as the cloud rested over the tabernacle, they remained in camp. ¹⁹ Even when the cloud continued over the tabernacle many days, the people of Israel ^(E)kept the charge of the Lord and did not set out. ²⁰ Sometimes the cloud was a few days over the tabernacle, and according to the command of the Lord they remained in camp; then according to the command of the Lord they set out. ²¹ And sometimes the cloud remained from evening until morning. And when the cloud lifted in the morning, they set out, or if it continued for a day and a night, when the cloud lifted they set out. ²² Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel ^(F)remained in camp and did not set out, but when it lifted they set out. ²³ At the command of the Lord they camped, and at the command of the Lord they set out. ^(G)They kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by Moses.

² And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord's house.

²³ And the city ^(A)has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for ^(B)the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. ²⁴ By its light ^(C)will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth ^(D)will bring their glory into it,

⁴³ There I will meet with the people of Israel, and it shall be ^(A)sanctified by my glory.

²⁴ And in the morning watch the Lord in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic,

^19 (A)Then the angel of God who was going before the host of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them, ²⁰ coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. And there was the cloud and the darkness. And it lit up the night^[a] without one coming near the other all night.

² and the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to ^(A)come at any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat that is on the ark, so that he may not die. For ^(B)I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat.
