¹⁴ Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, ^(A)he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

¹³ And he sent ^(A)two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him, ¹⁴ and wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, ^(B)‘The Teacher says, Where is ^(C)my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ ¹⁵ And he will show you ^(D)a large upper room furnished and ready; there prepare for us.”

⁷ But God was displeased with this thing, and he struck Israel.

²⁷ The Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness ^(A)to meet Moses.” So he went and met him at the ^(B)mountain of God and kissed him.

Timothy's Encouraging Report

⁶ But ^(A)now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of ^(B)your faith and love and reported ^(C)that you always remember us kindly and ^(D)long to see us, as we long to see you— ⁷ for this reason, brothers,^[a] in all our distress and affliction ^(E)we have been comforted about you through your faith.

²¹ For they all ^(A)seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

⁶ But ^(A)God, who comforts the downcast, ^(B)comforted us by the coming of Titus, ⁷ and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.

¹³ my spirit ^(A)was not at rest because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I took leave of them and went on to Macedonia.

²⁸ For it has seemed good ^(A)to the Holy Spirit and ^(B)to us ^(C)to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:

⁵⁹ To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” ⁶⁰ And Jesus^[a] said to him, “Leave ^(A)the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and ^(B)proclaim the kingdom of God.”
