Making the Altar of Incense^(A)

^25 (B)He made the incense altar of acacia wood. Its length was a cubit and its width a cubit—it was square—and two cubits was its height. Its horns were of one piece with it.

The Altar of Incense^(A)

30 “You shall make ^(B)an altar to burn incense on; you shall make it of acacia wood. ² A cubit shall be its length and a cubit its width—it shall be square—and two cubits shall be its height. Its horns shall be of one piece with it. ³ And you shall overlay its top, its sides all around, and its horns with pure gold; and you shall make for it a ^[a]molding of gold all around. ⁴ Two gold rings you shall make for it, under the molding on both its sides. You shall place them on its two sides, and they will be holders for the poles with which to bear it. ⁵ You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.

³ Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with ^(A)the prayers of all the saints upon ^(B)the golden altar which was before the throne. ⁴ And ^(C)the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.

⁵ you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

²⁵ Therefore He is also ^(A)able to save ^[a]to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives ^(B)to make intercession for them.

¹⁰ We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.

⁹ according to the custom of the priesthood, ^[a]his lot fell ^(A)to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. ^10 (B)And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.

¹⁹ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift ^(A)or the altar that sanctifies the gift?

The Penalty for Uzziah’s Pride^(A)

¹⁶ But ^(B)when he was strong his heart was ^(C)lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God ^(D)by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

^26 (A)He put the gold altar in the tabernacle of meeting in front of the veil; ^27 (B)and he burned sweet incense on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
