³⁵ and the people of Israel would see the radiant glow of his face. So he would put the veil over his face until he returned to speak with the Lord.

¹⁵ so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

³⁵ John was like a burning and shining lamp, and you were excited for a while about his message.

⁴³ Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

¹⁶ In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

³ Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.
