⁵ For the Lord had said to Moses, “Say to the people of Israel, ‘You are a ^(A)stiff-necked people; if for a single moment I should go up among you, I would ^(B)consume you. So now ^(C)take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do with you.’”

^45 (A)“Get away from the midst of this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.” ^(B)And they fell on their faces. ⁴⁶ And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire on it from off the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for ^(C)wrath has gone out from the Lord; the plague has begun.”

^21 (A)“Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them ^(B)in a moment.”

² And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you ^(A)these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, ^(B)testing you ^(C)to know what was in your heart, ^(D)whether you would keep his commandments or not.
