Moses and the Glory of the Lord

¹² Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’^(A) but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name^(B) and you have found favor^(C) with me.’

¹⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked,^(A) because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”^(B)

¹⁴ “I am the good shepherd;^(A) I know my sheep^(B) and my sheep know me— ¹⁵ just as the Father knows me and I know the Father^(C)—and I lay down my life for the sheep.^(D)

Israel’s Only Savior

³⁴ Now go, lead^(A) the people to the place^(B) I spoke of, and my angel^(C) will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish,^(D) I will punish them for their sin.”

¹⁹ Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm,^(A) sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,”^(B) and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord^(C) must turn away from wickedness.”

¹⁹ For I have chosen him^(A), so that he will direct his children^(B) and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord^(C) by doing what is right and just,^(D) so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”^(E)

33 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath^(A) to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’^(B)
