²⁰ He took the calf that they had made and burned it with fire and ground it to powder and scattered it on the water and made the people of Israel drink it.

²¹ Then ^(A)I took the sinful thing, the calf that you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust. And I threw the dust of it into the brook that ran down from the mountain.

¹⁵ Moreover, the altar at Bethel, the high place erected ^(A)by Jeroboam the son of Nebat, ^(B)who made Israel to sin, ^(C)that altar with the high place he pulled down and burned,^[a] reducing it to dust. He also burned the Asherah.

⁶ And he brought out ^(A)the Asherah from the house of the Lord, outside Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, ^(B)and burned it at the brook Kidron ^(C)and beat it to dust and cast the dust of it upon the graves ^(D)of the common people.

²⁵ The carved images of their gods ^(A)you shall burn with fire. You ^(B)shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them or take it for yourselves, lest you be ^(C)ensnared by it, for it is an abomination to the Lord your God.

⁵ But thus shall you deal with them: ^(A)you shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their ^(B)pillars and chop down their ^(C)Asherim and ^(D)burn their carved images with fire.
