¹⁰ Now therefore, ^(A)let Me alone, that ^(B)My wrath may burn hot against them and I may ^[a]consume them. And ^(C)I will make of you a great nation.”

^14 (A)Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and ^(B)blot out their name from under heaven; ^(C)and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’

¹² I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will ^(A)make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

^19 (A)For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which the Lord was angry with you, to destroy you. ^(B)But the Lord listened to me at that time also.

⁴⁵ “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.”

And they fell on their faces.

⁴⁶ So Moses said to Aaron, “Take a censer and put fire in it from the altar, put incense on it, and take it quickly to the congregation and make ^[a]atonement for them; ^(A)for wrath has gone out from the Lord. The plague has begun.” ⁴⁷ Then Aaron took it as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and already the plague had begun among the people. So he put in the incense and made atonement for the people. ⁴⁸ And he stood between the dead and the living; so ^(B)the plague was stopped.

²⁴ and My ^(A)wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; ^(B)your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

^16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. ^(A)The effective, ^[b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

The Lord Will Not Relent

15 Then the Lord said to me, ^(A)“Even if ^(B)Moses and ^(C)Samuel stood before Me, My ^[a]mind would not be favorable toward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.

¹¹ Then the Lord said to me, ^(A)“Do not pray for this people, for their good.
