¹⁸ And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses ^(A)two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

²² “These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly, in the mountain from the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and He added no more. And ^(A)He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

^13 (A)So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, ^(B)the Ten Commandments; and ^(C)He wrote them on two tablets of stone.

¹⁵ And ^(A)Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written. ¹⁶ Now the ^(B)tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.

¹² Then the Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you ^(B)tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them.”

³ clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ^(A)ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not ^(B)on tablets of stone but ^(C)on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

^28 (A)So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And ^(B)He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ^[a]Ten Commandments.

The Shining Face of Moses

²⁹ Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the ^(C)two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that ^(D)the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.

¹⁹ Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is ^(A)the^[a] finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s ^(B)heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the Lord had said.

Glory of the New Covenant

⁷ But if ^(A)the ministry of death, ^(B)written and engraved on stones, was glorious, ^(C)so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, ⁸ how will ^(D)the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?
