⁷ “Aaron must burn fragrant incense^(A) on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps.

²⁸ I chose^(A) your ancestor out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense,^(B) and to wear an ephod^(C) in my presence. I also gave your ancestor’s family all the food offerings^(D) presented by the Israelites.

⁹ he was chosen by lot,^(A) according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.^(B)

Oil for the Lampstand^(A)

²⁰ “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil^(B) of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. ²¹ In the tent of meeting,^(C) outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law,^(D) Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps^(E) burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance^(F) among the Israelites for the generations to come.

⁴ and will give our attention to prayer^(A) and the ministry of the word.”
