⁹ and you shall gird Aaron and his sons with ^(A)sashes and bind caps on them. And ^(B)the priesthood shall be theirs by a statute forever. Thus you shall ^(C)ordain Aaron and his sons.

⁷ And ^(A)you and your sons with you shall guard your priesthood for all that concerns the altar and ^(B)that is within the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood as a gift,^[a] and ^(C)any outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

²² Then ^(A)he presented the other ram, the ram of ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. ²³ And he killed it, and Moses took some of its blood and ^(B)put it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. ²⁴ Then he presented Aaron's sons, and Moses put some of the blood on the lobes of their right ears and on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. And Moses threw the blood against the sides of the altar. ²⁵ Then he took the fat and the fat tail and all the fat that was on the entrails and the long lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with their fat and the right thigh, ²⁶ and out of the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord he took one unleavened loaf and one loaf of bread with oil and one wafer and placed them on the pieces of fat and on the right thigh. ²⁷ And he put all these in the hands of Aaron and in the hands of his sons and waved them as a wave offering before the Lord. ²⁸ Then Moses took them from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an ordination offering with a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the Lord.

⁵ For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes ^(A)to stand and minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons for all time.

¹³ and it shall be to him and to ^(A)his descendants after him the covenant of ^(B)a perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the people of Israel.’”

⁴⁰ to be a reminder to the people of Israel, so ^(A)that no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, should draw near to burn incense before the Lord, lest he become like Korah and his company—as the Lord said to him through Moses.

³⁵ And ^(A)fire came out from the Lord and consumed ^(B)the 250 men offering the incense.

¹⁰ and that he has brought you near him, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you? And would you seek the priesthood also?

¹⁰ And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and ^(A)they shall guard their priesthood. But if ^(B)any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death.”

³³ And you shall not go outside the entrance of the tent of meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed, for it ^(A)will take seven days to ordain you.
