¹⁸ and burn the whole ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord. It is a ^(A)pleasing aroma, a food offering^[a] to the Lord.

²¹ And when the Lord smelled ^(A)the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again ^(B)curse^[a] the ground because of man, for ^(C)the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. ^(D)Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.

⁸ When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in ^(A)sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), ⁹ then he added, ^(B)“Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. ¹⁰ And by that will ^(C)we have been sanctified through the offering of ^(D)the body of Jesus Christ ^(E)once for all.

¹⁸ I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, ^(A)having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, ^(B)a fragrant offering, ^(C)a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.

² And ^(A)walk in love, ^(B)as Christ loved us and ^(C)gave himself up for us, a ^(D)fragrant ^(E)offering and sacrifice to God.

³³ And to love him with all the heart and with all ^(A)the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, ^(B)is much more than all ^(C)whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

²¹ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ^(A)“Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. ²² For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them ^(B)concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.
