³⁷ You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps ^(A)shall be set up so as ^(B)to give light on the space in front of it.

² “Speak to Aaron and say to him, When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.”

²⁰ As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and ^(A)the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and ^(B)the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

To the Church in Ephesus

2 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of ^(C)him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, ^(D)who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

¹² Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw ^(A)seven golden lampstands,

² And he said to me, “What do you see?” I said, “I see, and behold, ^(A)a lampstand all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and ^(B)seven lamps on it, with seven lips on each of the lamps that are on the top of it.

¹¹ They offer to the Lord ^(A)every morning and every evening burnt offerings and incense of sweet spices, set out ^(B)the showbread on the table of pure gold, ^(C)and care for the golden lampstand that its lamps may ^(D)burn every evening. For we ^(E)keep the charge of the Lord our God, but you have forsaken him.

² “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly. ³ Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the Lord regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. ⁴ He shall arrange the lamps on the ^(A)lampstand of pure gold^[a] before the Lord regularly.

^21 (A)In the tent of meeting, ^(B)outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before the Lord. It shall be a statute forever to be observed throughout their generations by the people of Israel.

⁵ And ^(A)night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp ^(B)or sun, for ^(C)the Lord God will be their light, and ^(D)they will reign forever and ever.

²³ And the city ^(A)has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for ^(B)the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. ²⁴ By its light ^(C)will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth ^(D)will bring their glory into it, ²⁵ and ^(E)its gates will never be shut by day—and ^(F)there will be no night there.
