The Golden Lampstand

^31 (A)“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.

² And he said to me, “What do you see?” I said, “I see, and behold, ^(A)a lampstand all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and ^(B)seven lamps on it, with seven lips on each of the lamps that are on the top of it.

^49 (A)the lampstands of pure gold, five on the south side and five on the north, before the inner sanctuary; ^(B)the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold;

Making the Lampstand

^17 (A)He also made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of hammered work. Its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers were of one piece with it. ¹⁸ And there were six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it; ¹⁹ three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand. ²⁰ And on the lampstand itself were four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers, ²¹ and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out of it. ²² Their calyxes and their branches were of one piece with it. The whole of it was a single piece of hammered work of pure gold. ²³ And he made its seven lamps and its tongs and its trays of pure gold. ²⁴ He made it and all its utensils out of a talent^[a] of pure gold.

¹² Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw ^(A)seven golden lampstands,

⁵ From the throne came ^(A)flashes of lightning, and rumblings^[a] and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning ^(B)seven torches of fire, ^(C)which are the seven spirits of God,

²⁰ As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and ^(A)the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and ^(B)the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

To the Church in Ephesus

2 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of ^(C)him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, ^(D)who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

¹¹ They offer to the Lord ^(A)every morning and every evening burnt offerings and incense of sweet spices, set out ^(B)the showbread on the table of pure gold, ^(C)and care for the golden lampstand that its lamps may ^(D)burn every evening. For we ^(E)keep the charge of the Lord our God, but you have forsaken him.
