The Ark of the Covenant

^10 (A)“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits^[a] and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.

⁴ having the golden ^(A)altar of incense and ^(B)the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ^(C)a golden urn holding the manna, and ^(D)Aaron's staff that budded, and ^(E)the tablets of the covenant.

Making the Ark

37 ^(A)Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood. Two cubits^[a] and a half was its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. ² And he overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside, and made a molding of gold around it. ³ And he cast for it four rings of gold for its ^(B)four feet, two rings on its one side and two rings on its other side.

New Tablets of Stone

10 “At that time the Lord said to me, ^(A)‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and ^(B)make an ark of wood. ² And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and ^(C)you shall put them in the ark.’ ³ So I made an ark ^(D)of acacia wood, and ^(E)cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand.

¹⁹ Then ^(A)God's temple in heaven was opened, and ^(B)the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings,^[a] peals of thunder, an earthquake, and ^(C)heavy hail.

^11 (A)Solomon brought Pharaoh's daughter up from the city of David to the house that he had built for her, for he said, “My wife shall not live in the house of David king of Israel, for the places to which the ark of the Lord has come are holy.”
