⁸ And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is ^(A)the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you according to all these words.”

⁴ For ^(A)it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Christ’s Death Fulfills God’s Will^(B)

⁵ Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

⁶ And Moses ^(A)took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

^25 (A)Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you ^(B)from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

²⁸ For ^(A)this is My blood ^(B)of the ^[a]new covenant, which is shed ^(C)for many for the ^[b]remission of sins.

Benediction, Final Exhortation, Farewell

²⁰ Now may ^(A)the God of peace ^(B)who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, ^(C)that great Shepherd of the sheep, ^(D)through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

^2 (A)elect ^(B)according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, ^(C)in sanctification of the Spirit, for ^(D)obedience and ^(E)sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:

^(F)Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

^18 (A)Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. ¹⁹ For when Moses had spoken every ^[a]precept to all the people according to the law, ^(B)he took the blood of calves and goats, ^(C)with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, ²⁰ saying, ^(D)“This is the ^(E)blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” ²¹ Then likewise ^(F)he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry.

²⁵ In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
