¹⁸ So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And ^(A)Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

^9 (A)When I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant which the Lord made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and ^(B)forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water.

¹⁰ “As at the first time, ^(A)I stayed in the mountain forty days and forty nights; ^(B)the Lord also heard me at that time, and the Lord chose not to destroy you.

^28 (A)So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And ^(B)He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ^[a]Ten Commandments.

^25 (A)“Thus I ^[a]prostrated myself before the Lord; forty days and forty nights I kept prostrating myself, because the Lord had said He would destroy you.

¹⁸ And I ^(A)fell^[a] down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you committed in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

² being ^[a]tempted for forty days by the devil. And ^(A)in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

¹³ And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; ^(A)and the angels ministered to Him.

² And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

⁸ So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and ^(A)forty nights as far as ^(B)Horeb, the mountain of God.
