^7 (A)Keep yourself far from a false matter; ^(B)do not kill the innocent and righteous. For ^(C)I will not justify the wicked.

²⁵ Therefore, putting away lying, ^(A)“Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for ^(B)we are members of one another.

^25 (A)‘Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person.’

“And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

^7 (A)keeping mercy for thousands, ^(B)forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, ^(C)by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

Justice for All

23 “You ^(A)shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an ^(B)unrighteous witness.

^11 (A)‘You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, ^(B)nor lie to one another.

²² Abstain from every form of evil.

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

^18 (A)For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and ^(B)unrighteousness of men, who ^[a]suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

¹⁶ If a false witness ^(A)rises against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing, ¹⁷ then both men in the controversy shall stand before the Lord, ^(B)before the priests and the judges who serve in those days. ¹⁸ And the judges shall make careful inquiry, and indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother, ^19 (C)then you shall do to him as he thought to have done to his brother; so ^(D)you shall put away the evil from among you. ^20 (E)And those who remain shall hear and fear, and hereafter they shall not again commit such evil among you. ^21 (F)Your eye shall not pity: ^(G)life shall be for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
