³⁰ If there is imposed on him a sum of money, then he shall pay ^(A)to redeem his life, whatever is imposed on him.

²² “If men ^[a]fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that ^[b]she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall ^(A)pay as the judges determine.

³¹ Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death. ³² And you shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may return to dwell in the land before the death of the priest. ³³ So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood ^(A)defiles the land, and no ^[a]atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except ^(B)by the blood of him who shed it.

^12 (A)“When you take the census of the children of Israel for their number, then every man shall give ^(B)a^[a] ransom for himself to the Lord, when you number them, that there may be no ^(C)plague among them when you number them.
