¹⁷ “Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.^(A)

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’^[a](A) and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’^{[b](B) 11} But you say^(C) that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)—

³ Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? ⁴ For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’^[a](A) and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’^{[b](B) 5} But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ ⁶ they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

⁹ “‘Anyone who curses their father^(A) or mother^(B) is to be put to death.^(C) Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.^(D)

¹⁰ “‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife^(E)—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.^(F)
