¹⁷ “And ^(A)he who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

¹⁰ For Moses said, ^(A)‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ^(B)‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ ¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, ^(C)“Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”—’ (that is, a gift to God),

³ He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, ^(A)‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ^(B)‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ ⁵ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, ^(C)“Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— ⁶ then he need not honor his father ^[a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the ^[b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

^16 (A)‘Cursed is the one who treats his father or his mother with contempt.’

“And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

⁹ ‘For ^(A)everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. ^(B)His blood shall be upon him.

^10 (C)‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.
