⁸ Then ^(A)all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.

⁷ Then he ^(A)took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.”

³ So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the ^[a]judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, ^(A)“All the words which the Lord has said we will do.”

²⁹ these joined with their brethren, their nobles, ^(A)and entered into a curse and an oath ^(B)to walk in God’s Law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord, and His ordinances and His statutes:

²⁴ And the people ^(A)said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!”

²⁷ You go near and hear all that the Lord our God may say, and ^(A)tell us all that the Lord our God says to you, and we will hear and do it.’

²⁸ “Then the Lord heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me: ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. ^(B)They are right in all that they have spoken. ^29 (C)Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and ^(D)always keep all My commandments, ^(E)that it might be well with them and with their children forever!

¹⁹ Then they said to Moses, ^(A)“You speak with us, and we will hear; but ^(B)let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

¹⁷ Today you have ^(A)proclaimed the Lord to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will ^(B)obey His voice. ¹⁸ Also today ^(C)the Lord has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, ¹⁹ and that He will set you ^(D)high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be ^(E)a ^[a]holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken.”
