² For they had departed from ^(A)Rephidim, had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Israel camped there before ^(B)the mountain.

Water from the Rock^(A)

17 Then ^(B)all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of ^(C)Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to ^(D)drink.

Moses at the Burning Bush^(A)

3 Now Moses was tending the flock of ^(B)Jethro his father-in-law, ^(C)the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to ^(D)Horeb, ^(E)the mountain of God.

¹² So He said, ^(A)“I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a ^(B)sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

⁵ and Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses in the wilderness, where he was encamped at ^(A)the mountain of God.

Victory over the Amalekites^(A)

^8 (B)Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

²⁴ which things are symbolic. For these are ^[a]the two covenants: the one from Mount ^(A)Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar—

^38 (A)“This is he who was in the ^[a]congregation in the wilderness with ^(B)the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, ^(C)the one who received the living ^(D)oracles^[b] to give to us,

^30 (A)“And when forty years had passed, an Angel ^[a]of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai.
