¹³ They are to be stoned^(A) or shot with arrows; not a hand is to be laid on them. No person or animal shall be permitted to live.’ Only when the ram’s horn^(B) sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”^(C)

²⁰ because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”^[a](A)

¹⁹ As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice^(A) of God answered^(B) him.^[a]

¹⁶ On the morning of the third day there was thunder^(A) and lightning, with a thick cloud^(B) over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast.^(C) Everyone in the camp trembled.^(D)

¹⁶ For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,^(A) with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel^(B) and with the trumpet call of God,^(C) and the dead in Christ will rise first.^(D)

⁵² in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,^(A) the dead^(B) will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible. ²⁹ If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up^(B) and it kills a man or woman, the bull is to be stoned and its owner also is to be put to death.
