¹⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write^(A) this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out^(B) the name of Amalek^(C) from under heaven.”

Balaam’s Fifth Message

²⁰ Then Balaam saw Amalek^(A) and spoke his message:

⁹ This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand^(A) and a reminder on your forehead^(B) that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.^(C)

¹⁴ “This is a day you are to commemorate;^(A) for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance.^(B)

² “Speak to Zerubbabel^(A) son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jozadak,^[a](B) the high priest, and to the remnant^(C) of the people. Ask them, ³ ‘Who of you is left who saw this house^(D) in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing?^(E)
