¹² “I have heard the grumbling^(A) of the Israelites. Tell them, ‘At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’”^(B)

Blessings for God’s People

²² From that day forward the people of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God.

⁷ I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God.^(A) Then you will know^(B) that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

³⁰ Then they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the Israelites, are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(A)

²⁴ People will live^(A) together in Judah and all its towns—farmers and those who move about with their flocks.^(B)

⁷ and in the morning you will see the glory^(A) of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling^(B) against him. Who are we, that you should grumble against us?”^{(C) 8} Moses also said, “You will know that it was the Lord when he gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling^(D) against him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the Lord.”^(E)

¹⁷ This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord:^(A) With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.^(B)
