¹⁹ When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen^[a] went into the sea,^(A) the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.^(B)

²⁸ The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea.^(A) Not one of them survived.^(B)

²⁹ But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground,^(C) with a wall^(D) of water on their right and on their left.

²⁹ By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.^(A)

²² and the Israelites went through the sea^(A) on dry ground,^(B) with a wall^(C) of water on their right and on their left.

²³ The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen^(D) followed them into the sea.
